For the children and kids, it is quite normal to allow them to hate new foods the 1st time they eat it. Sometimes, it takes up to eight or more attempts to get a child to like and or recognize it.

It is essential for parents to act patiently if you wish your son or daughter to develop proper eating behaviors and eat the appropriate and healthy way. Intended for good growth and development of the child, parents should give a selection of the below foods from each of the several food teams:


  1. Fat - Cut down on the amount of fat consumed in your family's diet and try and include lower excess fat dairy products, fat free cereals and breads.
  2. Healthier food choices - Retain a wide variety of healthy food choices around the home as snack foods, rather than chips and junk food. Do allow the occasional indulgence, but keep it low.
  3. Sweets - Reduce the usage of sugar in your meals, but don't limit it altogether. Sugar has its put in place our diets, so try and teach your child to take smaller helpings of it instead.
  4. Take in together - Eating dishes as a family can be nice and packed with light hearted conversations about the day.
  5. Shop and cook together - Buying for food and baking together are great and fun times for kids. Parents can learn about each others food likes/ dislikes and have fun with the time put in together.
  6. Eating in front side of the TV - Watching TV while you eat causes it to be difficult to pay attention to your hunger and may cause you overeating.
  7. Don't discipline kids without having food - Sending children to rest hungry may make them eat whenever they can as they may have the impression that they could have to go to sleep hungry.
  8. School en-cas - Find out what will be offered at your child's cafeteria at institution. Is it healthy enough? If not, pack a healthier lunch alternative for the kids to bring to school.
  9. Show a good example - If you as a parent show a good example in regards to eating healthy food, your son or daughter is sure to follow suit. Teaching your kids healthy eating habits in the beginning in life gives them the right mindset when it comes to eating good food.
